The occurrence of autism has climbed to an alarming

one in 100 people across the country.  Autism is a

bio-neurological developmental disability, which

impacts the normal development of  the brain in

the areas of social interaction, communication skills,

and cognitive function.  Individuals with autism

typically have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or

play activities.

I have found the following websites to be helpful
in my research about autism.  I am always learning
in order to develop best practices for teaching my students
with autism.  If you have any new sites to share
with me, I would love to hear about them.
